Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading Islamic financial institution, has announced a partnership with the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) that enables eligible UAE Nationals to obtain instant digital pre-approvals for additional Shari’a-compliant home financing to purchase, build, expand and enhance their homes.

The initiative supports the UAE’s ongoing efforts to promote homeownership, family stability and quality of life. Through ADIB’s advanced digital capabilities and mobile application, customers can obtain home financing pre-approvals through a seamless digital journey designed to significantly reduce processing time without the need for paper-based transactions or branch visits. According to UAE Government data, the homeownership rate among UAE nationals reached 91% in 2025, reflecting the country’s continued commitment to providing citizens with high-quality housing and fostering long-term community stability.

This collaboration enables beneficiaries of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority services to obtain additional financing from ADIB to purchase homes, build homes on their allocated residential land, expand their properties through the addition of rooms or extra floors, and upgrade finishes, infrastructure and other aspects of their homes.

Under this partnership, ADIB offers eligible customers instant pre-approval for additional home financing of up to AED 500,000, while the Abu Dhabi Government covers 50% of the Murabaha profit associated with the financing. This is provided alongside the housing loan of up to AED 1.75 million offered through Abu Dhabi Housing Authority programmes. The additional financing enables citizens to purchase homes with the space and specifications that meet their family needs and future aspirations, or to complete the construction and enhancement of their homes in line with their preferred lifestyle. Customers will also benefit from a seamless digital experience, simplified and efficient processes, and flexible financing solutions that enhance their overall housing journey and support access to suitable housing for themselves and their families.

Mohamed Abdelbary, Group Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, said:

"Homeownership is one of the most important foundations of family stability and long-term financial wellbeing. Through our partnership with Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, we are providing UAE Nationals with digital access to flexible financing solutions that support the construction, expansion and enhancement of their homes in line with their needs and aspirations, while enabling them to obtain pre-approvals within minutes. By combining ADHA’s housing support programmes with ADIB’s expertise in Shari’a-compliant financing solutions, we are helping customers complete their homeownership journey through a seamless and integrated experience."

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting the homeownership aspirations of UAE Nationals through practical financing solutions that enable beneficiaries to maximize the value of existing housing programmes. Through this collaboration, ADIB and ADHA aim to enhance the customer experience, provide greater flexibility for homeowners, and contribute to the continued development of sustainable and thriving residential communities across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The partnership further reinforces ADIB’s commitment to delivering innovative Islamic financing solutions that address the evolving needs of UAE Nationals and support the UAE’s vision of enhancing quality of life, strengthening family stability and fostering social cohesion.
